There are only 57 countries whose citizens can enter Thailand visa-free, with the permitted period of time depending on the traveler’s nationality. All other foreign passport holders require a visa for Thailand, including travelers from Lithuania. A Thailand visa on arrival for Lithuanians is available for short stays for tourism and can now be obtained through a simple online application before traveling.
Do Lithuanians Need a Visa on Arrival for Thailand?
Citizens of Lithuania are currently required to get a Thailand visa to travel to the country, no matter the duration and purpose of the trip. For stays of up to 15 days in the country, Lithuanians are able to get a visa on arrival for Thailand through queuing at Thai border entry points, although this can be a time-consuming process.
To speed up the visa application process, the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand has recently implemented a new electronic visa on arrival for Lithuania (eVOA), which allows travelers to pre-register an online application and join a dedicated fast lane at the Thai border.
To promote the new service for Lithuanians, the government is currently waiving the additional on-arrival payment of 2,000 Baht (approximately 61 USD) until the 30th of April 2020. After this date, applicants may be required to make an additional payment of 2,000 Baht upon arrival in Thailand.
Thailand eVOA from Lithuania
In order to meet the requirements for the Thai visa on arrival online, it’s necessary for applicants to arrive by air, as the Thai eVOA from Lithuania is only available for entry at international airports in Thailand.
Applicants must also have a Lithuanian passport valid for at least 1 month upon the entry date to Thailand, as well as a current valid email address at which to receive the Thailand eVOA for Lithuanians.
A valid credit or debit card with which to pay the online Thai visa on arrival fee is also required, and a passport-sized photograph (4 x 6 cm) are also required.
Travelers can apply for the Thai eVOA for Lithuanian citizens from between 30 days up to 24 hours prior to the intended date of entry to Thailand, although it’s advised to apply at least two working days before travel to ensure sufficient processing time of the visa.
How Can I Get a Thailand Visa on Arrival for Lithuanians?
Those traveling for short stays in the country can get the Thai electronic visa on arrival through the simple Thailand eVisa application online, which only takes minutes to complete with some personal and passport information, including name, nationality, and travel document number.
After filling in the Thai eVOA from Lithuania form, applicants are advised to double check all the data entered matches the travel document information, as errors may cause a delay in receiving or rejection of the visa. It’s also necessary to answer a few security-related questions before the application can be submitted.
Upon approval, the Thailand online visa on arrival for Lithuanians is sent to the email address provided by the applicant, and a copy can then be printed to later present at the Thai border upon entry.
Travel Requirements for Thai Visa on Arrival for Lithuanians
In addition to presenting a printed copy of the visa alongside the corresponding passport, holders of the Thailand eVOA from Lithuania are also required to supply some supporting documentation upon arrival to guarantee entry to the country:
- A completed Thailand arrival card (issued on inbound flights)
